We're looking to the night sky for our next Dinah Download. A science based Notebook Foldable Shutterfold!
Observe patterns in the sky. Predict what the moon’s appearance will be in the future, based upon observable data.
Notebook Foldable Shutterfold: Cut out the template. Fold anchor tabs backward and forward. Glue anchor tabs onto notebook page to form a shutterfold. Cut up the center line to form two tabs.
Discuss what you know about why the visible part of the Moon changes in a predictable cycle every month.
On the front of the tab, glue the corresponding waxing and waning phases in the correct places. Under the tabs, describe what is depicted in the diagram on the front of each. Use the names of the eight Moon phases in the description when appropriate.
Research why we can’t see a New Moon.
